EDHEC Research Centres

[Cette page en français]

As part of its strategy of international excellence, EDHEC has an ambitious research policy that has led it to create research centres drawing on the expertise of its faculty. At present, there are six research centres in financial analysis and accounting; in economics; in risk and asset management; in marketing and in law; they have a total budget of over 7.5 million euros.

In an effort to guarantee the applicability of its research, EDHEC undertakes research whose objectives and relevance have been confirmed by academia as well as by business.

The goal common to each of the research teams is to meet international academic standards while also making the results available to business and to policymakers.

Cultural approaches to consumption marketing stategies

The goal of this centre, created in 2006, is to transcend those approaches in which the consumer is considered a mere vessel for marketing messages and to take instead an approach founded on consumer culture theory (CCT). InteraCT research focuses on the co-production of marketing by the company and by the consumer, and the centre's goals are:

  • to detect the hidden forces behind consumption;
  • to map new strategies for marketing departments;
  • to transfer research results to managers and to future decision-makersEDHEC students of traditional age or those in continuing education in order to help companies benefit from innovative marketing concepts.

For this reason, the centre studies the impact of IFRS on the valuation and on the pricing of the risks of listed European companies. The research centre also studies changes in the use of fairness opinions in the status of outside financial expert. Finally, in cooperation with the risk and asset management research centre, it has done substantial work on the impact of IFRS and of Solvency II on the financial management and valuation of insurance companies.
